What are our goals?

RESKILLING works for a just transition with good social conditions, reskilling opportunities, and attractive jobs in the transition to automated mobility.

What's RESKILLING?

The deployment of Connected, Cooperative & Automated Mobility (CCAM) will transform the transport sector, creating opportunities but also challenges—especially for employment. While automation may shift jobs, it can also create new roles, improve working conditions, and attract a diverse workforce, including women, young people, seniors, and persons with disabilities. A just transition requires good social conditions, reskilling opportunities, and attractive jobs.

Funded by the European Commission under Horizon Europe, RESKILLING unites 20 leading partners in CCAM, education, skills development, and social innovation. Our goal is to equip Europe's mobility workforce and businesses with the skills to navigate CCAM's evolving landscape.

OBJECTIVES

To establish a robust community of stakeholders actively involved in the project, along the full CCAM value chain, fostering collaborative development of project outcomes and promoting the as wide as possible outreach, multi-layered replication and take-up of the project results.

To investigate in depth the short-, medium- and long-term employment & socio-economic effects of CCAM development.

To enable businesses and workers to mitigate negative effects of CCAM, by making use of opportunities provided by CCAM deployment in passenger and freight transport towards sustainable employment growth and improve capacity for (social) innovation to strengthen society’s preparedness to act proactively.

To ensure necessary skills are available and up-scaled across a wide range of fields.

RESKILLING goes beyond technology, taking a social innovation-driven approach. By analyzing CCAM professions and engaging diverse stakeholders, we apply Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) principles throughout the project. The RESKILLING Co-Innovation Framework fosters collaboration to create sustainable, context-specific solutions.

Our vision ensures the CCAM transition is inclusive and fair. By promoting skill development across the value chain, we aim to reduce negative employment impacts and unlock new socio-economic opportunities. Through strategic research and interventions, we empower individuals to actively shape and benefit from this transformation.
